Freshman Conference Player of the Year (1981), All-Conference (1981-1984), All-State (1983,84), Honorable Mention McDonalds All American (1984), All-Wisconsin Team (1983-1984), School and conference record 54 in a game, not sure if broken yet.
Best Experience:
Going undefeated to the State Tournament back to back years in '83 and '84...Yes, I am rather old......but the memories are like it happened yesterday....The 54 was special, but I came close a few times, if I just had the 3 point line back then.....But it was all about the TEAM PLAY!!!....
Worst Experience:
Going undefeated to State only losing in the Semi-Finals to two different Teams that had the 7 footers we could not contend with.....I hate to lose!!
Scored 28 points against Indiana University in 1984 against Keith Smart and Alford as a Freshman....The 3 point line was coming out and I had 8 against Bobby Knight and the boys! (We lost though, again).
Worst Experience:
Going .500 my first couple years...I hate to lose but Northwestern has never really had a winning program.......My Coach was fired and I looked to come down to University of Texas at San Antonio and play for Coach Don Eddy!!
All the SA BALLERS: Rod Smith, Russ Levine, Steve Magee, Hasani Gibson, Devin Brown and on and on!!......There are some real tough-nosed, hard working players down here! You just have to find them. The Players listed above I mainly played against in the local SA-SPURS PRO-AMS back in the late 80's early 90's....I battled Terry Porter in College......it was so cool!
$3500.00 cash prize Men's Basketball Tournament! "Put your Money, Where Your Game Is" April 09-11, 2010. Eastside boys club, San Antonio, TX. Double elemenat...
John is one of the most consistent shooters from 3-point range that I've played with. Back in the day, you couldn't leave John open or he'll give you 30 easy. Now he'll just give you 25 (ha ha). Hell of a "run" coordinator. If you want a good run against competition with impressive "Hoop" resume's, call John.
Preciate da love!
Fry is my man! Makes my job a hell of alot easier to be able to drive and do what i want and then kick out to a great shooter who will knock the shot down 9 out of 10 times. He sees the love I have for this game and I see the love he has as well and thats why I am a WESTEND BALLER!
This is my guy man. At 40 he's ALLLWWWAAAYYYSSS at the gym. A true LIFER when it comes to this hoop -ish. He'll probably be playing until he's 60. Definitely been an inspiration to me. As long as he's out there, I feel like I'll be out there. Just when you think basketball will be over for you someday, you see a dude like this who wants to lace'm up with the best of them. Oh...I left out the fact that he can shoot the lights out. No -ish man. Anytime you leave him open, dudes just start running up the court or nobody's ready to rebound...that's a hell of a compliment when dudes are surprised when your shot comes off the rim.....keep shooting it j. Ball til you fall...fa real :)
Mike is another tremendous professional ball player that is very gifted...He is another that can really do it all on the court and I really appreciate him taking time when he is in SA to play on my Team, he is focused, understands the game and the sky is the limit for this great talent!
George is a obviously an incredible, young talent, he can really do it all on the court. I just appreciate the fact he is one of the pro's I have played with over the years who gets everyone involved from the best players in the world to little old me spottin up ready to bust another 3 in a pick up game in SA!!!
Rodney is one of the most dynamic players to come along in San Antonio in some time! This man can do it all and should know doubt be in the NBA. Most of all he is flat out a winner! How do I know? I have over 100 trophies and awards that we have won together to prove it! You want to win, you had better call Rod.
